In honouring Dylan McGarry and Boudina McConnachie, we celebrate two incredibly talented artists.

They won Best Exhibition Catalogue for their work ‘Our Ocean is Sacred, You Can’t Mine Heaven’, This exhibition is a multi-genre audio-visual storytelling project, that shares some of the rich cultural artefacts resurfacing and, in some cases, emerging as new contemporary reflections of South African ocean culture. The exhibition debuts a new tapestry from the Keiskamma Art Project and the One Ocean Hub Deep Fund project. Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition!

Dylan is also a founding member of Empatheatre , a theatre-based approach to transgressive social learning, and an extra-legal alternative to democratising policy change. His artwork and creative practice is particularly focused on empathy, where imagination, listening and empathy form the actual sculptural materials.
